I rarely drink coffee. I used to drink coffee all the time. French Cappuccino, mostly. I didn’t understand the overdose in caffeine was giving me bad dizzy spells. The room would spin; I could barely stand up straight without toppling over.
What tipped me was one day, a few years ago, my sister treated me to 100% Columbian Coffee. It taste great, but I went through a terrible dizzy spell for two weeks straight.
So, I researched my symptoms online. The closet diagnosis I could find is called “Disequilibrium”…the other “Vertigo.” I have to stay away from stimulants like caffeine, drink more water. It also helped when I took a long break from drinks containing High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is almost everything. No Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew, Coca-Cola, Root Beer, Arizona Tea (I love Raspberry) and the list goes on. Even Lipton Green Tea has it. 😦
I began to drink a lot of natural tea (tea bags), got rid of the bleached sugar exchanging it for natural raw sugar. I cut down on drinking Slurpees from 7-Eleven. I pouted at first, but my dizzy spells decreased greatly. My overall health improved.
Yes, I still drink soda nowadays, but it’s limited. Still, I can tell when I need to cut back. Yesterday, I did buy coffee for the first time in several months. After my first cup this morning, I realize that I can only have 6 fl. oz. a day. I need coffee though because I’ve been so drowsy after waking up this passed few weeks. It takes too long for me to “wake up.”
Hopefully, I’ll manage it better than I used to. Starbucks Mocha tastes really good, pretty much the only flavor of theirs I drink. When the bag is empty, I can trade it for a fresh cup of coffee at their shop. I want another cup! My head is already hurting; one is more than enough.
