2014 Annual Report

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 2
The final day of 2014! Oh my goodness! As some of you may have been, I was surprised to receive an Annual Report from WordPress. It has some ultra cool information that I’d like to touch on in one of my last posts of this year. Plus, yes, I’m waiting to see if we have snow flurries. I read between 3am and 4am will be the best chance, so…I’m up periodically looking out my window. Either way, it’s cold…31 degrees, feels like 22.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 3
The numbers are crunchy? šŸ™‚ The busiest day for this blog was January 10, 2014 with 132 views. The most popular post? “The Dark Light Series.” Yay! The one series I hesitated to create, let alone share online simply because of the Christian subject matter. I didn’t know how viewers would react.

It seems that Honorable Mention is given to the photo: “1957 Ford Thunderbird (VI)” which was eventually made the official photo for my brand (until I create another favorite). Third Place, the photo coverage that highlighted the protest in Jacksonville, Florida entitled “Cruel Treatment of Circus Animals?” And although I will not be able to attend the protest in 2015, those in charge already asked for my permission to use my photography from the 2014 event.

Finally, Fourth Place goes to “Series: Sliding Glass.” Woot! (whatever that means). Similar black and white photography style as “Dark Light.” Yet, it is less impactful to be honest and I used natural light opposed to strobe lighting.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 4
I am nearing 400 posts, writing almost 300 in 2014 alone. For a short time, I tried to post a photo or writing everyday. It became exhausting to keep up. I like Wednesday posts, I’m awake at this point in the week, but not “Friday” drowsy lol.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 5
I’m not surprised my Homepage has the most views (it’s my Homepage). Recently, I tried to spiffy it up a bit more because first impressions are everything. I’ve also been testing out new templates, but the one I have has always seemed to be better so far. Besides, I guess if it’s not broken, why try to fix it.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 6
What I’m really working on for 2015 is “physically” meeting people. Going to different venues, sharing my work, my vision, and how I aim to accomplish it. However, expanding my online presence is important as well because I can reach people far beyond where I can travel at this point. I just want a better balance between the two.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 7
Speaking of which, the majority of my views come from home, the United States. In second place is the U.K., third place is…India. India? Wow. I would not have guessed that.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 8
“The Dark Light Series” also earned the most comments in 2014. And “Comment Champion of the Year” easily goes to Charlotte Hoather. Funny thing is, I can’t remember when we met on WordPress. Some type of way I remember listening to one of her songs (she sings) and…yeah. That was it. I don’t have a prize or anything…I feel bad.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT 9
Well, I’ve done enough damage around here for one year. haha. šŸ™‚ 3:46am…no signs of snow this far down the valley. I’ll be mad if I stayed up for nothing and it snows during normal hours of the day. But I’ll take that, too.

Oh yeah. WordPress also suggest that in order to improve traffic to you blog, visit and comment on the blogs of others. Make friends. Mingle. Mingle? Yes? And Publicize your blog posts on social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and…”Path.” What in the world is “Path”? I’ve never heard of that one before. The icon looks like Pinterest. lol, every time I turn around it’s something new. Oh well.

Anyway, I think I will share “the blog post of the year” again later today for those of you who may have missed it. Because “The Dark Light Series” was posted in January, almost a year ago now. Yikes.

2014 ANNUAL REPORT
Umm, the entire WordPress site has been updated…more like, it’s been reverted back to the way it was a few months ago. Many more pages, but better organization this time around. I will probably make a few tweaks, but I want this to be it for the year. Leaving the site alone to focus on creating new work whether writing or photography. Also, I’d like to have more Guests posts to share what others are doing, what inspires my work, etc.

I’m sooo nervous! and excited at the same time. Since “The Dark Light Series” has done so well, I think I will use it to headline my presentation package to certain companies, magazines, etc. Ready or not, I will roar. šŸ™‚

Thank you all for your interest in what I do. Take a look around the site because there’s a ton of new work on unique pages I haven’t shown before. When you have time…it’s not going anywhere. šŸ™‚

Finally, please, for the love of all that’s good, be careful tonight. Don’t drink too much (aka get drunk); make sure your designated driver isn’t crazy (a crazy driver). And unless you’re in my hometown in South Florida, it’s cold. The entire continental U.S. is cold outside of Central to South Florida. Slippery roads. Freeze warnings. Dress accordingly. What do you mean? I know I’m not your parent, I’m just saying.

Happy New Year’s Eve Day.
