Ladies & Gentlemen, I present to you the newly designed business cards. I took a few things into consideration while creating this business card. I kept what worked from the last design. The black logo on a plain white background. I love it…
Next, I altered what did not work. First, I selected an art piece that fits the style of the logo better. I also removed some of the detailed information because the last card seemed cluttered. Since the Facebook header design works so well, I incorporated that layout to the card. I was afraid the text would be too small, but it’s actually fine.
Finally, (and I admit, it breaks my heart) I decided to use Matte instead of Glossy card stock. Well, I like shiny. While Networking, other business owners and entrepreneurs are known for writing notes about you on the business card you give them. It helps them remember who you are. If you have a glossy business card, writing on it is nigh impossible. If anything, the ink will rub right off… 😦 Substance over Style…at least, in this instance. 🙂
Still, I mourned for a few days. Matte business cards. What is the world coming to? Yesterday, after photographing them for this blog entry, they’re growing on me. Not too bad after all. (Way to go, Eric. You like your own business cards. ..I think. Congratulations). Hey..! Baby steps. No picking on me. 🙂 I can’t help it. Ooohhh, Shiny…
I would like a heavier card stock, though. I have to keep that in mind for the next round. Special “Thank You” to Smart Levels in Irvine, CA. I have printed my promo work through them for over five years. Wow. And once you find a really good printer, stick with them. Consistency. It just takes longer for me to receive product because I’m on the opposite side of the continent these days.
I hope to have more updates to share with you soon.
