I would like to share some highlights of the Event. Tomorrow is the final day of the 5-Day Exhibit; I’m sure that the Staff will be able to catch their breath, at least, as they reminisce next week. If you are in the area, please visit the Space and share photos.
Art Basel 1.0 | The Artbox.Projects
68304 Saint-Louis (3rd Floor)
I have good news: The Artbox.Projects is now on Instagram. (Yay!) Since Instagram is my most popular Social Media outlet (by far), it’s great to be able to get updates and Reposts Grams. They are also on Facebook, which is cool because three Live Videos captured yesterday are still posted. I was able to watch a bit on the Live Feed yesterday on Instagram, but the videos are not accessible afterwards.
I was able to spot my art piece on two of the three videos posted on Facebook yesterday. I almost fell off the wagon because of my excitement. About 3 minutes and 22 seconds into the video, I see “Dream of Red” hanging there, the scream was toned down. I didn’t want to cause a commotion in the home well after midnight. Still…(EXCITED). You can watch the entire 11-minutes clip just to get a feel of what the venue is like…
I woke up Friday morning feeling a bit down. Mentally, emotionally, spiritually exhausted. I do my best to read a Devotional and pray consistently giving me the boost to start my day, but yesterday morning was rough. I get good news, then bad news. Two steps forward, one step back. Dare I say, there are times when I need more than Scriptures to propel me forward.
While scrolling through emails, I received a Letter from Lucie. I believe she is overseas in Europe and had no idea she was following my progress. Wow. She told me how she saw my art piece winning the Miami Competition in December, which encouraged her to enter this time for Art Basel. Three of her art pieces were accepted by The Artbox.Projects and on 14 June, she was able to see them on-screen at the Exhibit.
I felt great after reading the Letter. Fully charged, which is why I love being surrounded by other Creatives because we tend to see the world in a similar way. I guess I get tired because it’s juggling what I have to do to take care of my responsibilities while pursuing a Career as an Artist. We all can hit a wall sometimes and it’s a blessing when even strangers come along to say, keep moving forward.
