Summer 2017 Portfolio

Contemporary Art by Eric Christopher Jackson

By ECJ Summer 2017 Portfolio

Hey Readers.

It has been a while since my last Blog post because I’ve been preparing this Catalog to submit to Art Consultant Agencies, Hotels, Hospitals, Interior Design Agencies, and Real Estate Agencies. Which means that I had to be decisive in the work I would Feature, the cost of the artwork on various material, along with the dimensions available for each. Needless to say, I have spent too much time on Microsoft Excel getting the Inventory and all of this information organized.

I began transferring this info into the Catalog layout. I’m excited because the Summer 2017 Edition includes all the Prices and Sizes for Acrylic, Framed, and Canvas Prints. Listed is your choice of Frames and Mat Colours giving you the option of matching the presentation of my work with the style of your home.

All you have to do is click the image above. The Catalog will open in a new Tab, then you can Download the PDF. The Catalog is also available on the Shop Page. I came to an agreement with my representing Gallery to lower the art prices a bit.

In other News, I am scheduled to start a new job sometime this week. I don’t have an exact date. The Orientation was to the point. I’ve worked at this place before. It will help me stabilize my life, in general. πŸ™‚ Plus, as the Art Business continues to expand, I’m running into more fees that need to be paid. Of course, I have to live while keeping my sanity πŸ™‚ taking advantage of major opportunities as the budget allows. All about Balance…

I have submitted my Registration to become a Vendor for Hilton Hotels and their Partners. I took a bit of time to read through the Terms and become more familiar with how I should present my Business. There are fees involved to add my Logo and Catalog to my Profile in their system, which I hope to cover before Summer’s over.

My Profile on Treniq has been updated and the Catalog is also available for Download there. What’s great about Treniq is Registered Buyers can purchase the artwork featured in the Catalog at a Discounted Rate. However, only Acrylic Prints are listed.

I have only received Rejection Letters from a few of the Artist Residency programs. Not everyone has responded, yet. Still, they’ve all been really encouraging me to apply again for the next Round because they say taste in Art is subjective. The right Curators have to look at your work at the right time with spots still available to accept more Artists. Hang in there, you guys, I feel good about one of the programs picking me.

Last week, I was forwarded a Casting Role by Willems Int’l Agency in London for a possible Voice Over role in a Commercial. They continue to submit my Profile to various opportunities and the results of this Casting will come through around mid-July. Since it’s a recurring role, the chosen Actor can make a lot of friendships through this venture. I must say, it was awkward recording my voice as I read the very brief script. It took several takes before I felt I delivered each line correctly…

Finally, the First Round results from the Screenplay Competition are due July 15th. Should I pray (again) that my script will make it into the Quarter Finals? I could, right? And yes, slowly, but surely, my written work is making its way to the new Write Creativity website. You can also follow the WC Brand on Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook.

I hope to have this website completely updated before the end of this month. I want to work with Actors, Directors, Producers, and other Screenwriters on various types of projects. Since their time is limited, having a website and social media outlets where only my written work is featured will help them determine if I’m a good fit for their ideas.

Happy Holiday.

In celebration of Independence Day, Society6 is having a Sale of 20% Off & Free Shipping on all Products. The selection of work is limited because I have not decided what I want to include in this Shop. I really like the B/W Illustrations and am sketching more concepts for that. However, the rest is up in the air. πŸ™‚ Now, that the Portfolio Catalog is finished and I know which direction the Gallery work is heading, I’ll have more energy to look into S6.

As I begin a new job this week, I know I’ll have to be more deliberate in which projects I spend my time on outside of the day job. The reason I post Blogs more often is so you guys are not inundated with loads of information at one time. Many of you are looking for specific subjects, so it helps if I’m more concise. I will do better next time…in theory. πŸ™‚

Let’s cherish those who have fought and do fight for our Independence. My youngest nephew is in the midst of the Army’s Basic Training right now, so he can’t call the family to share his progress, yet. 😦 As you know, Freedom is never Free.

  1. This art world is very difficult to break and I really admire your perseverance Eric, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you πŸ€. πŸ™‹πŸΌ

    • HiπŸ™‹Charlotte. Well, I’ve made significant progress within the last 7 months. My work has been shown in Miami and Basel. I’m a Resident Artist for the Gallery in Switzerland. And I’ve received more offers to exhibit my work elsewhere including San Diego. Yes, it’s a fight, but difficult is not impossible. Besides, it needs to be tough to justify the huge party and sound sleep I’m going to have when this is over.😊Take care.

      • I know I’ve been reading, keep going, I’ve seen how hard you’re working to get this you so deserve it πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’•
